GRG/AGA Fellow Travel Awards & GRG/AGA Abstract of the Year AwardDeadline: March 21, 2008 DESCRIPTIONAwards of $500 each will be given to selected individuals chosen to present at DDW outstanding abstracts of which they are first authors. The best trainee abstract submitted for the GRG/AGA Fellow Travel Awards will be granted the Abstract of the Year Award, a $1,000 prize. This award will be presented at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW®) 2008 in San Diego, CA. OBJECTIVETo encourage trainees to become more involved in digestive disease research. ELIGIBILITYQualified candidates are MD or PhD postdoctoral fellows who are active or trainee members of both the GRG and AGA and are sponsored by a member of both organizations. Applicants must be the first author of an abstract accepted for presentation at DDW and provide evidence of abstract acceptance. Individuals with faculty appointments are not eligible. APPLICATION PROCESSA copy of the accepted abstract along with a letter confirming its acceptance, and a letter of recommendation (one page or less) from the applicant's sponsor, describing the applicant's role in the research being presented and detailing how this award will benefit his/her career, are required.
