Honor the establishment of the GRG through the GRG Founders Fund
We have established the GRG Founders Fund in honor of Drs. Joseph Kirsner, Basil Hirschowitz and E.C. Texter who recognized in 1955 that support of young investigators during the early stages of their career is essential to maintain their motivation to continue as productive scientists in academic research. Unfortunately recent years have seen far too few of the best and brightest young scientists NOT choosing to pursue careers in digestive disease research. Moreover, the number of scientific research fora programmed during DDW has become fewer every year, symptomatic of a waning interest in research. Thus the issues that led to the establishment of the GRG have come full circle with the need for today’s GRG to play an increasingly important function in the training and career promotion of young investigators and in the furtherance in general of high quality investigation.
A gift to the GRG Founders Fund in honor of Drs. Kirsner, Hirschowitz and Texter will be a tangible symbol of your respect for their professional achievements, their forethought to found such an organization, and a statement of your commitment to the future of the GRG. Contributions to this fund will be dedicated to the support of the career development of young investigators.
All contributions will be acknowledged in the GRG Spring Symposium program, with those of $1,000 or above acknowledged as Founding Members, $250-$999 as Sustaining Members, and $100-$249 as Contributors. Donations to the GRG Founders Fund for the purposes of research and education are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Donate to the Founders Fund online.
Donations may also be made via U.S. Mail to: GRG National Headquarters, Founders Fund, 4930 Del Ray Ave., Bethesda, MD 20814.
