This award was created to encourage trainees to become more involved in digestive disease research. Eight $500 awards will be presented to trainees who submitted outstanding first authored abstracts that were selected by the AGA for presentation at DDW®. The top ranked of the eight selected abstracts will be selected as the Abstract of the Year and the recipient will receive a $1,000 prize. In addition, he/she will be recognized at the GRG Spring Symposium during 2012 DDW in San Diego, CA
The GRG Steering Committee will select the award recipients.
The application submission deadline is March 2. Award notifications will be emailed in April.
A copy of the accepted abstract, AGA acceptance confirmation and a letter of recommendation from the applicant’s sponsor (one page or less) are required. The letter of recommendation must describe his/her role in the research being presented and detail how the award will benefit his/her career.
The application must be completed. The application and required documentation must be combined into one PDF document. The document must be titled by the applicant’s last name and first initial and emailed to awards@gastro.org no later than March 2.
